OUR HISTORY
St Mary’s Primary School has a proud history of service to the Moruya district dating back 160 years. First established in the district at Shannon View in 1847, this school was burnt down and replaced in 1859 with a second school on the south of the river at Moruya. In 1883, the Sisters of the Good Samaritan were welcomed to Moruya and took charge of the primary school and established a boarding and day secondary school in 1884. In 1941 the new St Mary’s Primary School was opened.
The mission at St Mary’s is to ensure a truly Catholic learning community where the integration of faith and life is central to the culture and identity of the school, at every level. It has a strong commitment to engaging students in life-long learning to develop skills of communication, independence and collaborative learning and problem solving.

Supervision of children is between 8.20 am and 3.30 pm.
Children should not be in the school grounds before 8.00am.
The School Office is open from 8.40 am until 3.40 pm.
