My name is Damian.

I will be replacing Faith as the school counsellor
at St Mary’s for the rest of 2025, and wanted to
share a bit more about myself.  I have been part
of the Marymead CatholicCare Student and Family Counselling team since 2024.  In addition to my current work at St Bernard’s Primary School in Batehaven, I have also worked at Mt Carmel School in Yass.

I am an accredited and registered Social Worker and hold a Masters degree in Social Work.  I have previously worked as an intensive family preservation practitioner in northern Victoria and as a family support worker in Nowra/Ulladulla.  I have a particular interest in Compassionate Inquiry, Compassion-Focused Therapy and Trauma-Informed Practice.  I have completed additional training with the Trauma Research Foundation, obtaining a certificate in Traumatic Stress in 2023.

Please feel welcome to reach out to me if you have any questions or queries relating to the counselling service at your school. I currently work at St Mary’s every Tuesday and alternating Mondays (odd weeks of term).  To make a referral, please discuss with your student’s classroom teacher, deputy principal or principal.
