Assistant Principal News

Dear Parents and Carers

ANZAC Day 2025

Each year St Mary’s students, families and staff attend the numerous ANZAC Day ceremonies across the region on 25 April. This year ANZAC Day falls within our school holidays. Students who are able to attend the ceremonies are encouraged to wear their school uniform, stand or march together. Our representatives will be able to lay a wreath organised by the school. At Tuross Dawn service students are asked to meet Mrs Durnan, for the Moruya march students are asked to meet Mrs Wain and Mrs Afflick 15 minutes before the march near the rotunda, and at Broulee students are asked to meet Mrs Brady and Mrs Hampson near the Rivermouth Café at 6.30am.

Mayors Writing Competition
Every year, students across the Eurobodalla are asked to write an original story as part of the Mayor’s Writing Competition. In classes students will have the opportunity to use one of their pieces of writing they have been working on to submit as part of this competition. This year’s theme is ‘Friendship.’ We know that our students will love the opportunity to share their writing with others, and they may also want to work on their own entry at home over the holiday break as well.

Little Basil Sellers Art Competition
Aspiring school-aged artists from Eurobodalla are invited to enter the Little Sellers Art Prize 2025 for a chance to win great prizes and have their work included in an exhibition in the Bas. In the past we have had a few recipients of this opportunity where they have had their work on display in the Basil Sellers Art Gallery attached to the town library. This year’s theme is ‘’To thine one self be true’ Students will be working on artworks in class as part of this, but children may want to work on this as part of a holiday project as well. The winner for each category receives a $100 voucher to art supply store Amanda’s of Mogo, and runners-up receive $50 vouchers. The overall winner of the Little Sellers Art Prize, chosen from the school year category winners, receives $500.
