Pentecost
Last Sunday we celebrated Pentecost, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and followers of Jesus. Pentecost is a very special celebration in the church calendar as it represents the beginning of the Christian Church.
This week was National Reconciliation Week. National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme this year Now More than Ever is a reminder to us all that we need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation. That now more than ever, the work continues as we strive for connection, respect and change. It is very fitting that we will hold our Combined Schools Mass together during National Reconciliation Week.
Combined Schools Mass
This coming Wednesday 29 May at 10:00am our K-12 pathway schools will come together at Carroll College to celebrate our Combined Schools Mass. We warmly invite our families and parishioners to join us for this special mass.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Thank you to those families who were able to attend the information and enrolment meeting for the Sacrament of Confirmation last week. If you were unable to attend but you would like your child to receive the sacrament, please get in touch with me as soon as possible. Enrolment forms should be sent back to school at your earliest convenience, along with necessary documentation.
The candidates are well underway with their preparations and are looking forward to receiving this sacrament later this term. We thank their teachers who play a very important role in supporting the candidates and their families during their preparations. Please keep these boys and girls in your prayers as they prepare to take this step in their faith journey.
A Commitment Mass for the candidates of Confirmation will be held this Saturday 25 May at the 5:00pm mass.
Feast of the Sacred Heart and Grandparents Day
On Friday 7 June we will have a very special Whole School Mass celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart and Grandparents Day. We warmly invite all of our families and parishioners, especially Grandparents to join us for Mass at 9:15am. This will be followed by a special morning tea back at school to honour our grandparents and show them just how special they are to us. We very much hope you can join us.
