Dear Families,
Yesterday we held a joy-filled celebration of the career of Mrs Marg Croese at Sacred Heart Church. Marg has taught at St Mary’s Primary School for 43 years, and her wonderful work in Catholic Education continues at Carroll College. Marg has touched the lives of so many and we are so very grateful for all she has done and continues to do, in our schools and community. Congratulations Mrs. C!
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
Each year, St Mary’s students collect non-perishable food items for the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. Each classroom has a basket to be filled with donated items. The baskets will be presented to St Vincent de Paul at our Graduation Mass on Tuesday 12 December. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
The Season of Advent
This season of Advent begins this Sunday. Advent is the liturgical season that precedes and prepares for Christmas. It is a season of hope and of longing, of joyful expectation and of peaceful preparation. Many symbols and traditions are associated with Advent, especially the Advent Wreath with its four coloured candles (three purple and one pink) representing Hope, Faith, Joy and Peace. Advent is always a very special time in our beautiful Sacred Heart Church.

A Prayer for Advent
Precious Lord, as I embrace this Advent Season, please open my eyes to see the great value and blessing of Your Incarnation. Help me to discover Your hidden presence in this world and within my own soul. I desire to see, understand and experience the profound effects that Your Incarnation has on my life and I desire to receive those effects more fully this Advent. May I become a sanctuary in which You dwell so that I, like Your dear Mother, may bring Your presence into the world.
