Religious Education News
Dear Families,
We were never meant to do life alone. We need the love and care of others, as much as others need us in the same ways. As Christians, we are called to offer our time, resources and strength to those in need. That need might be as seemingly insignificant as helping a friend put a sock on a damp foot, or getting knots out of hair after swimming. We have exceptionally caring students at St Mary’s and see examples of this at school every day.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfil the law of Christ.”
GALATIANS 6:2
‘With Hearts of Gratitude’
On Monday this week, we gathered to remember all those who died in World War 1 and those who have died in wars and conflicts since then, as well as thank them in our hearts for all they sacrificed. Our Remembrance Day liturgy was led by Year 6 with exceptional maturity and reverence. In places in our world today there is still conflict, and we pray that we will value the freedoms that we enjoy today and commit ourselves to creating peace in our world.

Christian Meditation at St Mary’s
Every morning, all students at our school participate in Christian meditation. We typically use the mantra "Marantha"- this ancient Christian prayer word means Come, Lord Jesus. Pictured here are students in Kindergarten and Year 1 beginning their day silently, gently and faithfully.

Note the Date Change: Mass & Picnic for Mrs Marg Croese
Please join us at noon on Thursday 30 November 2023 to celebrate Mrs Croese and her incredible career in Catholic Education. We will begin with a Mass at Sacred Heart Church, before enjoying a picnic on the lawns at St Mary’s. Please bring a picnic, blanket and a small plate to share.
A Prayer for World Peace
O God of the nations,
as we look to that day when you will gather people
from north and south, east and west,
into the unity of your peaceable Kingdom,
guide with your just and gentle wisdom all who take counsel
for the nations of the world,
that all your people may spend their days in security, freedom, and peace,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
