Rugby Union Gala Day
Last Wednesday, Stage 3 students participated in a Rugby Union Gala Day at MacKay Park Batemans Bay. The day was coordinated by the ACT Brumbies development officer Matt Toward and the games were refereed by both Brumbies staff and Carroll College sports coaching students. It was a fantastic day! The students all played Viva touch football in teams of 7-8 against students from St Bernards and Batemans Bay Primary. All of the teachers were very impressed with the enthusiasm and participation by our St Marys students and we congratulated them on their wonderful sportsmanship throughout the day. A highlight of the day was watching Sonny C in Year 6, running fast towards the try line (and could have scored) but decided to pass the ball to a Kai W and allow him to score the try. A great demonstration of teamwork, friendship and sportsmanship. Well done to all stage 3 students on a fun day out.

Archdiocesan Rugby Union Trials
Last Monday, Kordel H and Asher B participated in the Canberra Goulburn Rugby Union trials in Canberra. Congratulations to both boys on their successful selections in the Archdiocesan team which will be playing at the MacKillop Rugby Trials in Forbes on 27 June. We wish you all the very best of luck at the next level.
Kordel: ‘It was raining and cold! I trialled in the position of fly-half which I was happy with as it is the position I play in weekend rugby. The best thing was tackling the big kids!' Asher: ‘I met lots of new people and was able to trial in different rugby positions’. |
MacKillop Soccer
Last Friday, Archer Sch travelled to Goulburn to compete for the Canberra
Goulburn Soccer team at the NSWCPS soccer event. It was a day of tough competition against teams from Wagga, Parramatta, Sydney and Wollongong
Diocese with the toughest team being the Sydney team. Congratulations to
Archer on reaching this level of representation.

Archer: ‘I was a midfielder. It started raining in the third game but then it cleared up for the fourth game. I was the only person on my team who scored a goal after my teammate, Diesel passed me the ball. I had a lot of fun and I got to hang out with Sammy from St Bernards all day’. |
NSWCPS Cross Country
We wish the following students all the very best of luck as they travel to Eastern Creek in Sydney on Tuesday 7 June to compete at the NSWCPS Cross Country event. The track is the Eastern Creek raceway and our students will be competing against students from across the state.
